✈️ Preparing to Travel

Course Catalog: Course information, General Health & Safety, Packing List & more

Lodging Recommendations:(if you want to extend your stay pre or post your program)

        • Travel & Medical Insurance: Students have had good experiences booking their travel medical insurance through World Nomads.

          • We require that, at a minimum, you are covered for medical expenses including emergency repatriation. We strongly recommend

that the policy also covers personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects.

            • If you attend SDSU, please purchase travel insurance through SDSU via Aztecs Abroad

              • If needed, we recommend you ask your travel medical insurance provider about virtual counseling options, if gender-affirming care is

included, and access to a network of recommended healthcare providers where they will be traveling, etc.

If it is not included, you can also look into private options, such as BetterHelp.

                • Flights: Students have had good experiences booking their flight through StudentUniverse.

                  • TGP will offset your flight's CO2 flight emissions when booking with them

                    * TGP recommends that you wait to book your flights until after the enrollment deadline passes; if a program does not have enough

participants to proceed, we will reach out to you directly. Typically, the enrollment deadline is approximately 8 weeks before the program's

start date. For more information, please contact your TGP representative or our team at info@thegreenprogram.com. Additionally, TGP

strongly encourages students to consider purchasing travel/flight insurance with "Cancel for any reason" coverage as an extra precaution.

                      • As of January 20, 2025, the U.S. Federal Government passed an executive order that no longer issues U.S. passports or Consular

Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBAs) with an X sex marker. Please read the information from the U.S. State Department regarding

sex markers in passports. Note: Current passports with sex marker X cannot guarantee an individual's entry or transit through

                      other countries

Enroll and Register your travels in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) | The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) is a

free service to allow U.S. citizens and nationals traveling and living abroad to enroll their trip with the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

        • Hotel Information/Address: Kathmandu Guesthouse - Saat Ghumti Marg 16, Kathmandu 44600, Nepal

          • If you do not have a visa and do not receive an entry stamp from an immigration officer, you will not be allowed to depart Nepal

            • For regular tourist visa provided upon arrival by the Nepali Department of Immigration, tourists may stay no more than 150 days

            in any given calendar year.

Tourists may request the following visa at the time of arrival at TIA and checkpoints: *Please be prepared to pay with cash!*
